Not Self-Confidence, God-Confidence!

-Joyce Meyer-

Put no confidence or dependence [on what we are] in the flesh and on
outward
privileges and physical advantages and external appearances.
--Philippians 3:3

... I have found that most people fall into one of two categories: (1) they never accomplish anything, no matter how hard they try, and end up hating themselves because of their lack of achievement; or (2) they have enough natural talent to accomplish things, but take all the credit for their achievements, which fills them with pride. Either way, they are a failure--in the eyes of God. The only truly successful person in God's eyes is the individual who knows he is nothing in himself, but everything in Christ. Our pride and boasting are to be in Jesus alone, and He is to have all the glory (credit due) for whatever accomplishments we may achieve.

God has been speaking to me through devotion for the past 2 days + today. First, He told me to learn to control myself emotionally. Trying times are learning times: note that I was down on Sunday night (refer fb status if needed). Felt so much better after devotion on Monday morning, and decided to look at life in a new perspective (note the change of fb status in mandarin, it says "new day, something new to look forward to, new hope, our joy is in the Lord, His joy--our strength, God is love, [Love] loves you!). On Tuesday, received a call for interview in the morning and was feeling anxious. During devo, "cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you". Today, I was thinking about how I really needed self confidence for this interview. During devo, "We do not need self confidence; we need God confidence!".

So yes, I decided that my confidence is in Him. Without Him, I am nothing. With Him, I am everything. I did my best at the interview today. Whether I get it or not, it is all up to God and I'm leaving it all in His hands. I told sis, "If God wants to put me there, no matter how terrible the interview went, He will make a way for me to get in".

I. have. decided.

Look up :)
