To help catch HUGE spiders. 
Of course, that male friend must not be afraid of pests like spiders, cockroaches, and rats. That's Herry btw, helping us get rid of the spider. hahaMy dad was always the one getting rid of pests at home [he's my hero ^^]. Well, unless he's not at home, then it'll be mum or sis [my heroines]. UNLESS, EVERYONE'S NOT HOME. Then, I'll HAVE to do it cuz I don't wanna sleep with pests. lol
Another reason that having male friends are vital in Sam's life, is that they are good in technical stuffs. Eg, reformatting computer and fixing the lights.
